BLANKA VLASIC BEAUTIFUL HIGH JUMPER

Dear readers of sport&beauty. As you will have noticed, sport and beauty are often closely related. That’s the reason why today we’re going to talk about one of the most beautiful female athletes in the world. Besides having dangerous curves, she’s a great athlete, has won many important competitions and is an icon in her country. Today’s post is dedicated to Croatian high jumper Blanka Vlasic. Here you are Blanka Vlasic, a real champion of beauty in and out the athletic track.

Croatian high jumper Blanka Vlašić was born on November 8, 1983 in Split (a Croatian city located on the Adriatic coast) when Croatia was still a Republic of the former Yugoslavia and there were eight years to go before the outbreak of the war in the Balkans. Blanka’s father, Josko Vlasic, was a decathlete that participated in the 1983 Mediterranean Games held in Casablanca representing Yugoslavia. It seems that Josko got lured by the Moroccan city to the extent that he decided to name her newly-born daughter after the African city. Out of curiosity we’ll say that the Vlasic family is an unusual case in the world of sports since father and daughter are national record holders. Josko holds Croatia’s decathlon record since 1984. Blanka Vlasic is naturally gifted for high jump as she’s 193 centimetres tall and weighs 75 kilos. As you can see this Croatian beauty looks nice from the front and the rear. Let’s review Blanka’s athletic career. Aged only sixteen, Blanka unsuccessfully participated in the 2000 Sydney Olimpics. Four years later and aged twenty, Blanka participated in the Athens Olympics obtaining the same bad results than in Sydney's. However, Blanka’s breakthrough was in 2004 when she won the gold medal in the Junior Athletics World Championships and the broze medal in the IAAF World indoor Championships. In 2006 Blanka finished 4th in the high jump final of the European Athletics Championships held in Goteborg being the first woman not to win a medal after having jumped more than 2 meters high. Blanka managed to jump 2.01 meters but she needed more attempts to make it past the bar than the bronze medalist winner, gorgeous Swedish athlete Kajsa Bergqvist. In 2007 Blanka managed to jump over 2 meters high in seventeen out of the nineteen outdoor meetings she participated and made some unsuccessful attempts to break the world record set in 2.10 meters. Blanka won almost every outdoor meeting she participated in and she was only defeated at the Opening meeting of the Golden League held in Oslo. Although she won the remaining Golden League events, this defeat caused her not to get the $1 million jackpot won by other athletes such as Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva and American runner Sanya Richards. Her big break came during the IAAF Outdoor World Championships held in Osaka ( Japan) in 2007 where Blanka won the gold medal with a jump of 2.05 meters. In October 2007 Blanka was recognized by the European Athletes Association as the best female Athlete of the Year being the first Croatian athlete to receive this award. Even when competing, Blanka never forgets about fashion. Have a look at her navel piercing and her nails painted in red matching the red bottom.

In 2008 Beijing Olympics, Blanka suffered her first defeat in thirty four events and probably the most bitter defeat in her long and successful career. She lost to Belgian Tia Hellebaut (the one wearing glasses and looking like a nerd). In spite of the fact that both of them made it past the bar set at 2.05 meters, Blanka needed two attempts while the Belgian had enough with only one. As both of them failed to overcome the next height Blanka finished second winning the silver medal. Anyway, I bet she’ll take revenge in the 2012 London Olympics winning the gold medal and breaking the world record. STEPHANIE RICE BEAUTIFUL AUSTRALIAN SWIMMER

Dear readers of sport&beauty. Not so long ago we posted an article about the women who’s considered by many as one of the sexiest female swimmers ever, American swimmer Amanda Beard. It may be true but I’m torn between Amanda and the girl today’s post is about, Australian female swimmer Stephanie Rice. I like both and I’m not taking sides with either of them. Stephanie Rice is younger but Amanda is more experienced. The decision is left to you. Anyway, here you are sexy Australian female swimmer Stephanie Rice, a stunning beauty in and out the pool.

Stephanie Rice was born on June 17, 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She’s 176 centimetres (5 ft 9 1⁄2 in) tall and weighs 67 kilos (150 lb) and besides being really beautiful she’s also a great swimmer. Stephanie is the current world record holder in the 400 m individual medley and won three gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Let’s take a look at her career highlights. Back in 2006 Stephanie Rice won the gold medal in the 200 m individual medley at the 2006 Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne, Australia setting a personal best of 2:12.90. Not satisfied with this she also won the gold medal in the 400 m medley.

In the 12th FINA World Championships held in 2007 in Melbourne, Stephanie Rice won the bronze medal in 200 m individual medley breaking the Australian record by a second. I think she was already familiar with the swimming pool. She earned her second bronze medal in the 400 m individual medley breaking her personal best by 0.54 seconds. The beautiful Australian swimmer went on improving and in June she set a new personal best in the 400 m individual medley in an international swim meeting in Italy. Also in 2007 and in the Japanese Open Championships Stephanie broke her personal record in the 400 m individual medley cracking the 4:40 barrier.

In 2008 and at the Australian Olympics trials Stephanie Rice broke the world record in the 400 m individual medley clocking 4:31.46 although she lost it to Katie Hoff when the American swimmer clocked 4:31:12 at the US Olympics trials. However, this setback didn’t discourage Stephanie and the Australian swimmer managed to break the world record in the 200 individual medley stopping the clock at 2:08.92, one second faster than the previous record held by China's Wu Yanyan. At the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Stephanie Rice won her first gold medal in the 400 m individual medley clocking 4:29.45 and recapturing the world record she had lost to Katie Hoff in June. Stephanie got her second gold winning the 200 m individual medley and breaking a new world record. The following day she would earn her third gold medal as part of the Australian 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay team. All these successes earned her the title of 2008 best Australian female swimmer and she was also considered the World’s best female swimmer by the Swimming World magazine. I would also have awarded her the title of the sexiest Australian female swimmer of the year or the decade. In the last FINA World Championships held in Rome in 2009, Stephanie earned two silver medals (200 m individual medley and 4 x 100m Medley Relay) and a bronze medal (400 m individual medley).

Out of the pool this beautiful Australian female swimmer seems to be a funny and outgoing girl. She dated Australian swimmer and 50 m world record holder Eamon Sullivan. The couple broke up in July 2008 just before Beijing Summer Olympics. They each lived in separate Australian states and claimed that this situation was extremely stressful which, together with the proximity of the Olympic Games, caused the end of their relationship. It's hard to believed becaused they were so in love that even advertised underwear together.

Besides, Stephanie seems to be a party lover and some pictures of her posted on the Daily Telegraph's web site attracted more than 800000 visitors in a short spell. The aforementioned pictures showed Stephanie dancing in a sleeveless shirt in a fellow swimmer's birthday party and disguised as a policeman in BRW's party. The uniform suits her so well that I wouldn't mind being arrested, taken into custody or frisked by Stephanie Rice.

RED FOXES CSKA BASKETBALL CHEERLEADERS

Dear readers of sportandbeauty. Today we're going to talk about basketball. I’m not going to write about Paul Gasol, Kobe Bryant or Dirk Nowitzki. The post is not going to be dedicated to professional sportsmen or sportswomen. Nevertheless, I think that the girls we are introducing today could easily be reckoned as brilliant ones. These girls are really beautiful, sexy, statuesque and drop-dead gorgeous. I guess many of you won’t know them but for sure others will. Don’t worry. From now on you won’t be able to forget them anymore. They are known as “Red Foxes” and they are CSKA Moscow basketball team cheerleaders and dance team. Today’s guests constitute the best female cheerleading team in Europe and probably in the world. Although their main task is to cheer CSKA basketball players up, they can be found in the most important basketball events all over the world. In addition they have a number of awards in different cheerleading competitions. You will realize why as soon as you see the pictures and videos enclosed in our post. The current “Red Foxes” roster is headed by Anna Burkina and includes Daria Goryacheva, Darya Petrovskaya, Eugenia Telysheva, Eugenia Yurieva, Irina Kaganer, Irina Zvereva, Maria Pozdnyakova, Olga Kurchevskaya y Valeria Mileshkina. I have the pleasure to present you the “Red Foxes”, a real bouquet of drop-dead gorgeous cheerleaders. Help yourselves and enjoy.

Let’s start talking about the leader of the "Red Foxes" dance team. She’s Anna Burkina a Russian bombshell born on October 18th , 1984. She’s 180 centimetres tall. I would really love having a boss like Anna…..

Let’s move on. Our next Russian princess is Daria Goryacheva. Daria was born on January 17th, 1987 and is 169 centimetres tall. Have a look at their beautiful smile. Had I had such beautiful cheerleaders when I played basketball I wouldn’t have missed a single 3-point shot.

Next beauty in our bouquet. She is the epitome of Russian girs. She’s blonde, pretty, statuesque and has beautiful eyes. Darya Petrovskaya, aka “Kolya” was bor on November 15th, 1986 and is 175 centimetres tall. I wish she cheered me up when I feel blue…..

The next member of “Red Foxes” dance team is Eugenia Telysheva. She is 170 centimetres tall, has brown hair and was born on October 4th, 1990.

Now I’m presenting a drop-dead gorgeous brunette. She’s Eugenia Yurieva. Eugenia Yurieva is also 170 centimetres tall and was born on March 12th, 1990. Have a look at Eugenia because it is worth it. What a flexible girl!!

Another blonde. She’s Irina Kaganer. Irina Kaganer was born on March 28th, 1989. She is one of the shortest member of the "Red Foxes" since she’s “only” 167 centimetres tall. As you can see in these pictures, she’s also quite flexible.

She’s one of my favourite cheerleaders in the team. Irina Zvereva, aka “Patrick”, was born on January 1st, 1985 and is 170 centimetres tall.

The next member of the “Red Foxes” has an almost unpronounceable last name. She’s Maria Pozdnyakova. Maria Pozdnyakova, aka "Mashu", was born on January 5th, 1989 and is one of the tallest in the team since she’s 178 centimetres tall.

We are about to finish our trip to Russia. Our next guest is Olga Kurchevskaya. Olga, aka "Kotya", was born on December 28th 1987 and is 168 centimetres tall. In the picture you can see her dancing a kind of flamenco dance.

We have finally reached our destination. Last but not least, let me introduce you Valeria Mileshkina. Valeria Mileshkina is one of the youngest in the “Red Foxes” team since she was born on July 14th 1991. Valeria is 171 centimetres tall.

BEAUTIFUL SWEDISH FEMALE ATHLETES

Dear readers of sport&beauty. As the title indicates, our blog is mainly dedicated to sport and beauty. Today we’re going to mix both concepts and talk about athletics and the hot Swedish female athletics team. Gone are the times were it was hard to distinguish whether the winner of a race was a man or a woman. Some athletes from the former German Democratic Republic or Czechoslovakia looked like real men. They ran as fast as a lightning but were also rather scary. I wouldn’t have dared to bother those Soviet or Bulgarian female javelin, hammer or discus throwers because there arms were as big as my legs. Today we’re going to pay homage to Swedish female athletes because they are beautiful and hot. Of course they are also brave competitors. We’re going to learn about some of the most beautiful Swedish female athletes such as Carolina Kluft, Susanna Kallur, and Emma Green (members of the 4x100 meters relay Swedish female team) plus Kajsa Bergqvist, and Kirsten Bellin.

No doubt that you already know some of these Swedish beauties. The most famous one is Carolina Kluft. Carolina is heptathlon World Champion (thrice) and Olimpic Champion. Besides being a great champion, the Swedish athlete is nice and gorgeous and is always smiling. Carolina was born on February 2, 1983 in Sandhult, Västergötland, Sweden, is married to Patrik Klüft, a former pole vaulter and is studying Peace and Development at the University of Växjö . She’s 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall, weighs 65 kg (140 lb) and seems to be made from Swedish iron ore. Carolina started out playing football but took up athletics at the age of twelve. Carolina Kluft is the only athlete ever to win three world titles in heptathlon (París 2003, Helsinki 2005, and Osaka 2007) and is also Olympic Champion (Athens 2004). She didn’t defend her title at 2008 Beijing Olympics and also missed the 2009 World Championships held in Berlin after suffering a hamstring injury and undergoing surgery in July. We hope to see this beautiful Swedish athlete back as soon as possible. Here you are some nice Kluft’s pictures.

Another beautiful Swedish athlete that wass also used to winning Championships was high jumper Kajsa Bergqvist. Kajsa is already retired but as I like her so much she’s going to be included in my team of Swedish beauties. Kajsa was born on October 12, 1976 in Sollentuna, Stockholm, Sweden. Kajsa is 175 centimetres tall and weighs 58 kilograms. Before doing athletics she tried sports such as football, volleyball, badminton, swimming and cross-country skiing. Kajsa was bronze medalist in 2000 Sydney Olympics and Edmonton (2001) and Paris (2003) World Championships and World Champion in Helsinki (2005). Bergqvist married director Måns Herngren in 2007 and on January 7, 2008, announced that she would retire from high jumping because she no longer felt motivated to keep compiting and would become an ambassador for both UNICEF and the IAAF. What a pity!!

Emma Anna-Maria Green is a gorgeous Swedish high jumper. Emma was born on December 8, 1984, in Bergsjön, Sweden. Her athletic career is not as impressive as that of Carolina Kluft but she's pretty and beautiful a good reason to be included in our list. Emma was bronze medalist in the 2005 IAAF World Championships held in Helsinki and participated in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Emma has also been a Swedish champion at the 100 m, 200m and long jump and is also a top national level triple jumper and member of the of the Swedish national 4 x 100 m relay team. Emma is currently dating her trainer Yannick Tregaro.

Let,s go on to talk about one of the prettiest athletes in our list, Swedish hurdler Susanna Kallur. Susanna has won two gold medals in the 60 metres hurdles in the European Indoor Championships (Madrid 2005 and Birmingham 2007), the gold medal in the 100 metres hurdles in the European Championships (Goteborg 2006) and the bronze medal in the 60 metres hurdles in the 2006 World Indoor Championships held in Moscow. It's quite a résumé for an athlete. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Susanna fell at the first hurdle of the 2nd semi-final of the 100m women's hurdle event and missed the whole of the 2009 season through a stress fracture injury. She had surgery on her shin in late 2008 but didn’t participate in the 2009 World Championships. I like her very much.

Let’s continue paying homage to our beautiful and sexy Swedish athletes. Now it’s turn to fly over the rainbow with pole vaulter Kirsten Belin, a stunning Swedish beauty. Kirsten was born on May 2, 1981 in Borlange and her personal best is 4.51 metres. She hasn’t got a brilliant athletic career but she has a beautiful face and wonderful figure. Look at these abs. I love them.

Besides, this group of beautiful athletes is followed by a legion of hot and enthusiastic supporters that cheer them up from the stands. I’ll try to find out the venue for the next European or World Championships to book the plane ticket and a seat in the stadium as close as posible to the area assigned to the Swedish supporters. I’ll cheer Sweden and they’ll cheer me up.
