DUTCH MODEL KIM NOORDA

Dear readers of Sport&Beauty. Today we’re traveling to the Netherlands to meet Dutch model Kim Noorda. Kim is another jewel from the new breed of stunning young Dutch models that, like Doutzen Kroes or Marloes Horst, are poised to conquer the European world of fashion. Despite her youth, Kim is not a newcomer and she has already walked for Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino, Prada, and Miu Miu and landed the cover of “Vogue” Brazil, Japan and Russia, “Madame Figaro”, “Marie Claire” Italy, “Elle”, and “Harper’s Bazaar”. What can I say? I think she’s really gorgeous. Here you are Dutch model Kim Noorda. Enjoy the article.....

Kim Noorda was born in Amsterdam on April 22, 1986. As it usually happens, she was discovered by chance in 2003. When Kim was only sixteen, famous Dutch talent scout Wilma Wakker spotted her in Kalverstraat, a street in her hometown. The truth is that Kim had never thought to become a model and what she really wanted was to become a doctor. Anyway, she wanted to graduate from High School and during the first two years she started working as a part-time model. Here you are Noorda’s data and measurements:

In 2004, one year after her surprising discovery, Kim made her debut on the catwalk walking in Milan and Paris for Chanel, Jil Sander, Prada, and Miu Miu. Early in 2005 Noorda signed a contract to advertise Bulgari’s fragrance Omnia Crystalline and in February opened in New York Marc Jacobs’ Fall fashion show. Still in 2005 the Dutch model was included on style.com’s list of the top ten models for the Fall season, became the image for Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fall ad campaign, appeared on the Fall issue of “10” magazine and walked in New York and Paris for Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Kenzo, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent’s 2006 Fall fashion shows. In 2006 she extended her contract with Salvatore Ferragamo and in October Kim walked at Mayfair’s Cecconi restaurant for Roland Mouret’s Gap fashion show.

After the Summer, the Dutch model starred Bottega Venetta’s Fall ad campaign alongside Annie Leibovitz and in October, she walked in Paris for Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, and Nina Ricci’s 2008 Fall fashion shows. In addition, she starred in a new editorial for “Vogue” France dressed in Nina Ricci’s designs.

In January 2008, Kim opened and closed Armani Privé’s fashion show in Paris. In March, Noorda closed Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall fashion show in Paris and walked also for Balenciaga, Chanel, Chloé, Hermès, Givenchy, Lanvin, and Nina Ricci. After that, the beautiful Kim appeared in the Spring issue of “Another Magazine” and starred in editorials for “Vogue” Spain and China. In August she landed the cover of “Harper’s Bazaar” UK and appeared in an editorial for “Vogue” Italy. The following month Kim opened in New York and London Nicole Miller and Todd Lynn’s 2009 Spring fashion shows closing in New York, London and Paris Yigal Azrouel, Todd Lynn, and Akris’ ones. In October, she starred in an editorial for “Flair” Italy dressed in couture designs, in November starred in editorials for “V” and “Vogue” Spain and closed the year appearing in an editorial for “Vogue” Germany and landing the cover of “Flair” Italy. This is what I would call a busy agenda...

Let’s move on. At the beginning of 2009 Kim Noorda replaced Freja Beha as Emporio Armani’s image. In January she starred in an editorial for “i-D” dedicated to Alexander Wang and, in February, landed the pages of “Vogue” Spain and closed in Milan Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fall fashion show. In April she appeared in an editorial for “Marie Claire” Italy and in July walked in Paris for Armani Privé, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, and Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall fashion shows. In September Kim closed in Milan Emporio Armani’s 2010 Spring show walking also for Hermès, Christian Dior, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent. In October Noorda landed the cover of “Elle” France, in November starred in a new editorial for “Vogue”, and in December landed the cover of “Cover”.

Kim-Noorda

Kim hasn’t stopped working during the last years. In January 2010 the Dutch model walked in Paris for Armani Privé and Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring fashion shows and in February opened in London Margaret Howell’s Fall show closing Nicole Miller, Lacoste, Margaret Howell, and Akris’ ones. In March Noorda got back to “Marie Claire” and “Vogue”, and in April she wrote an article for “Vogue” about her struggle to achieve the kind of body demanded by today’s fashion industry. In June, Kim landed the covers of “Harper’s Bazaar” Spain and “Marie Claire” Italy, and in July walked in Paris for Armani Privé, and Christian Dior’s Fall fashion shows. Finally, in September she decided to skip that month’s Fashion Weeks to have a rest but returned to the catwalk in January 2011 walking for Christian Dior, Armani Prive, and Jean Paul Gaultier’s shows. In June Kim landed the cover of “Vogue” Mexico, in September landed the cover of “Marie Claire” Itay, and in October reappeared in “Vogue” Italy starring in an editorial with photographs taken by Steven Meisel.

Kim-Noorda-Lacoste-fashion-show

Ok, I think we had enough about fashion shows and magazines. Let’s talk a bit about her likes and dislikes. Kim admits that she prefers photo shots to fashion shows. The reason is that fashion shows have such a tight schedule that models are not owners of their time. She deeply dislikes attending fashion parties and skips them whenever she can. As we said before, Kim wrote an article for “Vogue” about the time she fought against eating disorder and was in treatment trying to gain some weight. Kim recognizes that she learnt a lot from it and says that this experience made her stronger since now she better knows how to tackle the problem. About her future plans when her modeling career is over, Kim says that it’s a bit too late to start studying Medicine and she’s considering to study Anthropology since she had already done some courses related with this subject. To conclude with today’s post, I’ll leave a slideshow with Kim’s pictures and a couple of videos so you can see this stunning beauty alive and kicking. Best regards.

CANADIAN MODEL IRINA LAZAREANU

Dear readers of Sportandbeauty. In the fashion world we’re used to talking about drop-dead gorgeous models. It’s not the case today (at least for my likes). Today’s article is dedicated to the Romanian-born Canadian model Irina Lazareanu. We can’t say Irina is extremely pretty and charming. Moreover, I think she looks like a hippie rather than like a professional model. Is this the reason why she was so closely befriended with Pete Doherty and Kate Moss? It’s been always said that birds of a feather flock together.... In spite of that, Irina Lazareanu has walked for many of the best fashion designers such as Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Shiatzy Chen, Anna Sui, Lanvin and Versace and reached the status of muse of some others like Nicolas Ghesquière and Karl Lagerfeld. Ok, let’s get going.

Irina-Lazareanu

Irina-Lazareanu-Canadian-model

Irina Lazareanu was born on June 8, 1982 in the Romanian Region of Transylvania. When she was only fifteen, her family moved to Canada and settled in Montreal’s Saint-Hubert neighborhood in the area of Quebec. In 1995 Irina moved to London to study ballet at the Royal Academy of Arts. However, her career as a ballerina came to an abrupt end due to a knee injury. At the age of fifteen, and while studying ballet in London, Irina met musician Pete Doherty at a party in Shepherd’s Bush becoming his muse and lover. For sure this Doherty will ring the bell as he later became Kate Moss’ boyfriend.

Irina-Lazareanu-Pete-Doherty

In 1999 Irina entered a casting process and signed a contract with Montreal’s Giovanni model agency in order to make some money to pay her rent. However, during the first years of her career she was almost completely focused on music. Irina and Pete got along well and she get actively involved in Doherty’s band (the Babyshambles) traveling in the Shamblemobile during Babyshambles’ 2004 tour. The rumor was spread that she had performed as a drummer for the band but it seems that it wasn’t true. Anyway the worked in close cooperation and Irina helped Doherty to write the song "La Belle et la Bête" which was included in the album “Down in Albion” and whose video clip featured Kate Moss. Here you are Irina’s data and measurements:

- Full name: Irina Lăzăreanu

- Birth date: June 8, 1982 in the Romanian Region of Transylvania

- Height: 176 centímetres: 5'9.5"

- Measurements: 81-63.5–89 (EU) : 32-25-35 (US)

- Hair color: brown

- Eye color: brown

- Dress size: (EU) 34: (US) 4

- Shoe size: (EU) 37: (US) 7

- Agencies: Giovanni Model Management Montreal, Storm Models London, Marilyn Agency Paris and New York, Why Not Model Agency Milan, UNO Barcelona

Irina-Lazareanu-Chanel

It was her friendship with Kate Moss that launched Irina stardom when she was personally chosen by Kate to land the pages of “Vogue” Paris and, later in 2007, to become the image of Kate’s successful clothing line Topshop. Since then, Irina popularity rose exponentially breaking the record of runway shows in a season. In July 2004 Irina opened Anne Valerie Hash’s FW couture show in Paris and walked also for Chanel. In 2005 she wrote the music for the movie “The Passenger” directed by her former boyfriend Francois Rotger and started to work together with Sean Lennon in a folk music album titled “Some Place Along the Way”. In addition, she was chosen by Kate Moss to star  in “Extravagance de plumes”, an editorial for “Vogue” France.

In January 2006 Irina landed the cover of “Vogue” Italy and opened Anne Valerie Hash’s SS couture show in Paris. In February she closed Marc Jacobs’ FW show in New York and walked in Paris and Milan for Prada, Christian Lacroix, Miu Miu, and Yves Saint Laurent. In March and May she appeared in editorials for “Vogue” Italy and “Numéro”. In July Irina opened and closed Chanel’s FW couture show in Paris and gets her video clip “Strange Places” released by Fashion TV. In September she was considered by Fashion TV as the new fashion it-girl and walked in Milan and Paris for Burberry, Marni, Fendi, Alexander McQueen, and Dries van Noten’s SS shows. Finally, in October she appeared in editorials for “Vogue” Italy and Japan and “W”.

Irina-Lazareanu-catwalk-model

2007 was also a frantic year for Lazareanu. At the beginning of the year she became the image of Chanel’s Paris-Monte Carlo collection and in February announced that she was to work with Sean Lennon and Pete Doherty to record a version of Dylan’s “Girl from the North Country”. In March the model appeared in editorials for “Harper’s Bazaar” (together with Jessica Stam), “Vogue” Italy (wearing couture dresses), and”L’Uomo Vogue” together with Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono. In April Irina starred in editorials for both “Harper’s Bazar” and “Vogue” Japan and in May she was chosen by Kate Moss to advertise her clothing line “Topshop” mainly composed of tight jeans and trimmed jackets. In the month of July Irina and Pete Doherty were chosen by Roberto Cavalli as the images for Cavalli’s men and women fashion collections. What I don’t understand is why a fashion designer like Cavalli chose Doherty as the image of his collection… Still in July Irina appeared in an editorial for “V” and in September she opened 3.1 Phillip Lim’s 2008 SS show in New York and appeared again on the pages of “Vogue” Italy. Finally, she opened in October John Galliano’s 2008 SS show in Paris.

Irina-Lazareanu-Topshop

At the beginning of 2008 Irina starred Saks Fifth Avenue’s ad campaign together with friend Hye Park. In February she opened Y-3’s SS show in New York, closed Anne Valérie Hash’s show in New York and walked also for Akris, Chanel, John Galliano, and Yohji Yamamoto. In June, and again in Paris, Irina walked for Anne Valérie Hash, Christian Dior, and Chanel’s FW shows and in July landed the cover of “MIXTE” and starred Sonia Rykiel’s Fall ad campaign. In October Irina starred and editorial for “Marie Claire” Italy and in December was considered as “model of the month” by “Vogue” Japan. In January 2009 Lazareanu walked for Christian Dior’s SS couture show in Paris. During the following months she appeared in a number of editorials for “Vogue” Japan (March), “Vogue” Italy (May), “Vogue” China (June) y “Vogue” Germany (August). In addition she posed for the Fall issue of “Pop” and landed the cover of the Winter issue of “QVEST”. Finally, and in New York, the Canadian model opened Y-3`s SS show and closed Ruffian and Emanuel Ungaro’s.

Irina-Lazareanu-streewear

It seems that in the last years Irina has slowed down the pace a bit. During 2010 and 2011 she walked in Paris for Anne Valérie Hash’s SS couture show and Charlotte Ronson, Maison Martin Margiela, and Vivienne Westwood’s FW ready-to-wear shows. She also appeared in a number of editorials for “Marie Claire” Italy (May 2010), “Marie Claire” (October 2010), and “W” (November 2010), “Flaunt” (April 2011) and landed the cover of “Flare” alongside Tiiu Kiuk and Arlenis Sosa (January 2011) and “Cover” (February 2011). She also starred ad campaigns for brands such as MAC and Rick Owens (Summer 2011) or Selected (Fall 2011). Already in 2012 Irina walked for Vivienne Westwood Red Label’s SS show and starred ad campaigns for The Kooples.

CRISTIANO RONALDO PORTUGUESE SOCCER SUPERSTAR

Dear readers of Sport&Beauty. Today we are receiving the visit of someone who has already appeared in our blog but who deserves an entire post for himself. He’s a sportsman, a football star, and one of the hottest and most desired men in the world. He’s from Portugal and throughout his career has played for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Risk a guess.... You’re right. Today I’m going to write about the life of Cristiano Ronaldo, today’s most handsome and sexiest football player. Here you are a shirtless Cristiano when playing for Manchester United.

Portuguese-soccer-star-Cristiano-Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born in Madeira on October the 5th 1985 to Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro. Cristiano has an elder brother, Hugo, and two sisters, Elma and Liliana Catia. Liliana is a singer and in the Portuguese stages she’s known as Ronalda. The name of Ronaldo is relatively rare in Portugal and it seems that Cristiano was also named after the US president Ronald Reagan from whom his father was a great admirer. Cristiano Ronaldo started kicking a ball at the age of 3 and when he went to primary school his passion for football was already obvious. As a child his favourite team was Benfica Lisbon although later he would play for their rival Sporting Lisbon. At the age of 8 Cristiano started to play football for Andorinha an amateur team where is father was a kitman. By 1995 Cristiano had already become famous in Portugal and the two Madeira’s top teams, CS Maritimo and Nacional, wanted him in their ranks. Finally Nacional pulled it off but Cristiano was soon transferred to Sporting Lisbon.

Cristiano-Ronaldo-Sporting-Lisboa

Cristiano joined a bunch of Sporting’s young talented players at Alcochete, Sporting’s football factory, where he received first-class training and became the first Sporting’s player to play for the under-16, under-17, under-18 and first team within the same season. In the summer of 2003 he came to the attention of the manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, when Sporting Lisbon beat Manchester United 3 to 1 in the inauguration of the new Lisbon’s stadium Alvalade XXI. His performances in that game was so impressive that United’s players spoke to Ferguson about a possible bid to transfer Ronaldo from Sporting to Manchester United. Manchester United would finally sign Cristiano for a fee of £12.24 million. The fact that David Beckham was poised to depart to Real Madrid speeded the negotiatons considerably. Since his arrival in Machester Cristiano wore the number 7 on his shirt, a number that belonged to some of the greatest United legends such as George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona or David Beckham.

Cristiano-Ronaldo

When in the pitch Cristiano is quite often in a bad mood. He’s been sent off several times for different reasons: unsporting gestures to rival’s supporters (Benfica’s supporters received a one-fingered gesture during a Champions League game), pushing rivals in the throat or hitting then with his head. Perhaps the most famous incident took place during the quarterfinal of the 2006 World Cup between England and Portugal where Cristiano got involved in Rooney’s sending-off by complaining aggressively to the referee. After this incident this popularity dropped a little. Cristiano moved to Spain's giant Real Madrid where he is by far the highest-paid player of the team. Don’t worry, the one trying to console Cristiano is Luiz Felipe Scolari the coach of the Portuguese national team. Are there any volunteers amongst the girls to help him?

Cristiano-Ronaldo-Real-Madrid

Cristiano-Ronaldo-tears

Out of the pitch Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t go unnoticed. He’s a fashion icon and in 2005 participated in the ad campaign for Pepe Jeans alongside model Jessica Simpson. Cristiano has opened his own boutique with the name of CR7 in his hometown of Funchal on the Island of Madeira selling t-shirts and jeans for men and clothing, handbags, necklaces and belts for women. Cristiano has entrusted his sisters to run the business.

Cristiano-Ronaldo-Pepe-Jeans-campaign

About his love affairs no doubt that Cristiano is the number one. In addition to numerous parties and flirts he’s also had some more or less well known love stories so far. What is true is that all her girlfriends have something in common. He seems to like big-breasted girls. According to British newspapers Cristiano Ronaldo started a relationship with British actress Gemma Atkinson in January 2007. Although Cristiano was apparently dating Gemma for almost 7 months there are no pictures of the “alleged” couple together. This led some people to think that Gemma Atkinson made up the story to boost her career.

Gemma-Atkinson

Before starting his relationship with Gemma, Ronaldo dated a sexy Portuguese model named Merche Romero. Merche was quite a bit older than Cristiano. By the time they started seeing each other Merche was 30 years old. An experienced woman that now conducts a show on Portuguese TV.

Merche-Romero

Alter breaking up with Gemma, Cristiano was photographed kissing Bipasha Basu (an Indian star from Bollywood) during the World’s Seven Wonders show held in Lisbon. Back in India Bipasha said everything was a misunderstanding and that the picture had been taken from the wrong angle. Looking at the picture I wouldn't be that sure.

Cristiano-kissing-Bipasha-Basu

Cristiano met Mirella Grisales at a party in Miami and both started a relationship that only his professional commitments were able to cool. After that, Mirella, a Colombian bombshell, posed half-naked for the Spanish magazine Interviu and said that she captivated Cristiano with her butt. After Mirella the Portuguese dated a Spanish girl, a gorgeous one by the way. She was Nereida Gallardo a girl from Majorca that was studying to become a dietist and combined her studies with her work as a nurse in a center for the elderly. Nereida y Cristiano met at the beginning of the year 2008 in Majorca, Nereida’s hometown, and it seems they had a very close relationship. So much so that if it wasn’t for Cristiano’s commitments, that force him to travel from one country to another, it could be said they were inseparable. Se was often spotted in the stands supporting Cristiano and he used to send her kisses when scoring a goal. In the event that something could go wrong sooner than expected and wishing to make some money, Nereida appeared on the pages of the Spanish magazine Interviu as Mirella did before. The affair didn't last for long and after breaking with Nereida Cristiano was said to be dating Letizia Filippi.

Cristiano-Ronaldo-Nereida-Gallardo

In the Summer of 2009 Cristiano Ronaldo was seen in a disco accompanied by Paris Hilton and a rumour was spread that they were enganged in a relationship. After that it was said that Cristiano was involved in an affair with American socialite Kim Kardashian but currently he seems to have found love with Russian model Irina Shayk. Things are in full swing for Cristiano and Irina and it seems they will soon get married but nothing can be said taking into account Ronaldo's love backgrounds. Best Regards.
